This extension and renovation focused on creating a home that would continue to work for the family for many years to come.
A double-sided fireplace forms the heart of the living spaces, while the redesigned layout provides better flow and flexibility as the family’s needs evolve. One of the standout features is a truly unique marble selection that became a focal point of the home.
The project also incorporated an integrated lighting and sound system that required extensive planning before the plaster stage. Working closely with the clients throughout the build ensured every detail was considered, resulting in a home that is as functional as it is beautiful.

In the owners’ words
Casey came highly recommended to us by two other respected local builders, and from our first conversation, we understood why.
Casey and his team completed an extension and renovation of our Gisborne home within the allotted twelve months. Early on, I asked whether we should allow an additional twenty per cent for budget blowouts. Casey told me that the biggest blowouts usually happen when clients change their minds. He was right. The project remained on track, with consistent progress on site every week, rain, hail or shine.
Casey was calm, no-fuss and genuinely listened. Whenever an issue arose, he responded quickly and worked through it practically, always achieving a good outcome. He was available when we needed him and stepped in to provide clear direction when it mattered.
The quality and attention to detail can be seen throughout our home. The original house and new extension have been brought together so seamlessly that you cannot tell where one ends and the other begins.
One of my favourite memories is of Casey’s apprentice arriving early one morning and standing beneath the spotted gum ceiling he had created in our alfresco. “It’s like a carpenter’s dream out here,” he said. He was proud of it, and so he should be. We now sit beneath that ceiling most evenings.
We had heard plenty of building horror stories, but our experience with Casey and Summerfield Homes was overwhelmingly positive. We absolutely love our home and would recommend them without hesitation.
